He has also won a National Walter Cronkite Award for excellence in political coverage and a Regional Edward R. Murrow award for political coverage and as an anchor during breaking news coverage of a flood. During his career, Bill has earned more than 35 awards for stations in Kansas, Maryland, Ohio and Washington, DC.

Bill has been interested in broadcasting since he was very young.  When he was a kid he used to watch a weatherman in Baltimore who made television look like fun.  Bill also used to stay up until 2am watching Tom Snyder on the old “Tomorrow” show on NBC in the mid 1970s.  Bill also loved baseball and wanted to be a play-by-play announcer for the Orioles.

Bill is a proud Maryland Terrapin (Fear the Turtle) and a Baltimore Ravens fan. His favorite spot in the world is Assateague Island on Maryland’s eastern shore with its Piping Plovers, Horseshoe Crabs and Wild Ponies.”
