Bryan Shaw grew up in a Cleveland suburb and then earned his Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Meteorology from Lyndon State College in Vermont.
From there, Bryan took his first job in West Virginia at WOAY. About a year and half later he moved not too far away to Huntington, WV where he worked for WV Media and WOWK. While with WV Media , Bryan was also doing weathercasts for the company’s other three stations — WBOY in Clarksburg, WTRF in Wheeling, and WVNS in Beckley/Bluefield.
After a year and half stint with WV Media, Bryan moved north to Buffalo, NY where the focus turned to forecasting Lake Effect Snow. In early 2014, he earned the Buffalo Excellence in Media Award for Best Use of Social Media. In July 2014 Bryan started forecasting in Louisville for WHAS. One month later Bryan earned the American Meteorological Society’s Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation.
Bryan is a big Cleveland sports fan, rooting for the Browns, Indians and Cavaliers. He also picked up an appreciation for hockey while in Buffalo. In his free time Bryan likes to explore new areas, exercise and play Ultimate Frisbee.
