Julie Leonardi currently resides in Denver, Colorado as a freelance reporter for FOX 31. Julie was born in the Bay State but was raised as Floridian. After falling in love with news in high school while spending time in several local news rooms in Sarasota, Florida ; Julie decided to trade the sand in for the snow and attend college at Syracuse University. There, her love of journalism grew after interning at the ABC affiliate during a semester while also working as an anchor and reporter at Syracuse’s student-run television station Citrus TV. Julie graduated in 2011 with a degree from S.I. Newhouse’s school of public communications with a degree in broadcast and digital journalism. Julie started her career as a production assistant at ESPN in Bristol, Connecticut. She eventually accepted her first on-air job in October 2012 in Minot, North Dakota as an anchor/reporter. Julie then found herself back East as a reporter for Western Mass News in Springfield, MA from 2013-2015. Before making the move to Colorado, Julie freelanced at Hartford’s #1 news station, WFSB until February 2016. Julie accepted a freelance reporter position with Fox 31 in Denver in April 2016 and continues to work there covering the Front Range.
