Resume

Nate Harrington has always wanted to be a meteorologist and pursued that dream at the Florida State University. He received his degree in Meteorology in 2006, and since then, he’s been all over the country.

Nate’s first stop was in Minnesota, where he saw snow for the first time and picked up some valuable winter weather experience, covering one of the snowiest stretches in the Upper Midwest from 2007-2008. He then headed back to the south, working in Tallahassee, FL covering severe weather outbreaks in South Georgia and North Florida, and devastating tropical weather, including the terrible flooding from Tropical Storm Debby in 2012.  Southeast Alabama was his next stop, working in the Wiregrass region in Dothan, where he led his weather team covering numerous severe weather outbreaks and the Ice Storm of 2014.  Nate then moved to Birmingham to work for WIAT.

Nate is a member of the American Meteorological Society and received his Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal from the AMS.

Outside of work, Nate is a big foodie.  To support this eating habit, he goes to the CrossFit box to workout 4-5 days a week.  Nate is also a big sports fan, rooting for his alma mater, Florida State (GO NOLES!) and is also a Tampa Bay sports fan, supporting the Bucs, Rays, and Lightning.
