As a Broadcast News Personality, Shay Harris spent more than a decade telling other people’s stories at major broadcasting companies across the country, such as Fox Orlando, the CBS affiliate in Cleveland, Ohio, and multiple ABC stations. She spent 7 years working as a News Reporter/Anchor in the Bluff City at Fox 13 and WMC Action News 5.
As a journalist, Shay has seen a lot…the good, bad, & very ugly. She’s covered high profile murder cases, politics, and storms. However, the stories she most enjoyed were the stories of inspiration. For years, Shay has served as a useful source to those seeking inspiration, help, and advice. She finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. She began writing about her passions for helping people & doing advocacy work on behalf of impoverished communities. Most recently Shay has been the Spokesperson/Liason with the Environmental Protection Agency on a large-scale environmental contamination case in MS where out of 88 homes more than 50 have been affected by cancer.
Shay believes when you know who you are & set your personal standard you live a productive life versus a life of chaos. She’s empowered with a mission to give others tools of encouragement, empowerment, and plant seeds of self-worth. Her first solid step toward that goal was writing her first book, newly released, entitled “I’m Saved. So, Now What?” The Biblically-based book was released in January and promises to be a guide for churches in helping new converts, seasoned Christians, teens, or whomever, find success in their Christian journey.
Some of you may also know Shay from her hit debut Gospel single “Dear Jesus” which was produced by “Marque Walker” and written by “David Gillard”. The song received a BMI award for more than 2.5 million radio spins across the country.
Shay has guest-starred on the syndicated hit FOX TV show, “Sleepy Hollow”. She is also a Journalist/Expert on the TV One television series “Fatal Attraction” and the ID Discovery Channel show “Justice by Any Means”. From time to time you may catch appearances of Shay guest starring on reruns of the nationally syndicated comedy shows “The Parkers” and “The Steve Harvey Show.”
Shay graduated from The University of Mississippi with a Broadcast Journalism degree with a minor in Telecommunications.
