Rebecca Atkins

Rebecca Atkins received her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from New Mexico State University, followed by an internship at KVIA, the ABC affiliate in El Paso.

Rebecca began her career shortly thereafter, moving to Abilene Texas to report for KXVA. After nine months there, she quickly moved on to South Carolina in the Greenville-Spartanburg market covering numerous stories at WHNS that gained national attention. Among them, the Walter Scott murder, the Charleston church shooting and the removal of the Confederate flag from State House grounds.

After two years in South Carolina, Rebecca moved home to New Mexico.
